What is the Weight Management Care Value Program?

The Weight Management Care Value® Program, part of the SafeGuardRx® platform, is an innovative solution that goes beyond recommended foods and exercise plans and recognizes obesity as the chronic illness that it is, providing the right tools and support to enable better health.

A smart scale that automatically transfers weigh-ins to a coach for review, and access to personalized coaching from registered dieticians, an individualized weight loss program and peer support.

Convenient filling

Appropriate access to preferred anti-obesity medications from any in-network pharmacy within the plan benefit.

Virtual connectivity

Smart support from Omada for PreventionSM for eligible patients, including an evidence-based curriculum and personalized weight loss program, guided counseling and access to peer support.

Specialized support

Therapeutic Resource Center® allows specially trained clinicians to help members tackle their personal health barriers.

Financial protection

Early discontinuation reimbursement for your plan if members do not complete at least four consecutive months of therapy.

  • How does the weight loss drug coverage work in relation to this program?

    Clients must allow coverage for preferred products within the program. Plans do have the option to limit coverage to only preferred products.

  • What is the member impact?

    Members can continue filling their drug at pharmacies within the plan sponsor's benefit—the Weight Management Care Value Program is not limiting access in any way. In addition, the Therapeutic Resource Center® provides members taking preferred products with specialized support, including:

    • Adherence monitoring
    • Proactive pharmacist outreach when non-adherence occurs to understand why it's happening and to support patients with an appropriate treatment path
    • New to Therapy letter and phone number to our specially trained clinicians
    • Omada for PreventionSM to qualifying members
    • TRC consultation for eligible patients driven through predictive targeting that may be a good fit for Omada for Prevention
  • What are the savings from a patient perspective?

    Targeted patients benefit from adherence monitoring and Omada for Prevention. These unique, high-touch tools are designed to increase healthy outcomes and improve adherence. Healthier, more informed members lead to cost savings for both members and clients. Patients will not be charged for these services through the Weight Management Care Value Program.
